Head of the Department of International Business Management visits Croatia

On 13–17 October 2025, Arkadiusz Cioczek, MSc, Head of the Department of International Business Managemen of VPU, represented our university during the Erasmus+ BIP programme ‘Unlock Logistics’ organised by PAR University of Applied Sciences in Rijeka.

In an international group of lecturers and students from Germany, Spain, Argentina, Poland and partner universities, we exchanged experiences in the fields of logistics, lean manufacturing and global competitiveness.

Arkadiusz Cioczek, MSc, an experienced production manager and Lean Manufacturing specialist, led a 5-day series entitled ‘Logistics in Lean Manufacturing: Practical Applications in Precision Machine Shops’ – practical case studies, lean tools and the prospect of international cooperation. The main theme was how SMEs can build competitive advantage through innovation, process optimisation and a culture of continuous improvement.

The programme included visits to Primaco, Jadrolinija and Vinumin, a tour of the Port of Rijeka and cultural events: museums and the artistic district. Four AWP students actively participated in the classes, developing practical and intercultural skills.

Participation in ‘Unlock Logistics’ strengthens VPU’s cooperation with universities in Croatia, Germany and Argentina and opens up new opportunities for joint teaching and research projects within Erasmus+.
