Weekend full of certificate exams at VPU

State examinations in Polish as a foreign language were held at the Vincent Pol University last weekend. Our university is one of the centres in Poland where courses to prepare for such examinations are organised and where such examinations are held.

A total of 55 people took the exams. 10 people took the C1 level and 45 people took the B1 level. These were people from Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Brazil and the Philippines,’

says Katarzyna Dejnek-Kobylas, who coordinates the work of the Examination Centre at VPU.

The examinations are conducted by a qualified staff of academics with special qualifications. They first check the worksheets on the spot in Lublin, and then they are sent to the Main Commission in Warsaw, where they are verified.

On 4 and 5 December, another recruitment drive will be launched for the Polish as a Foreign Language exam. This one will be conducted at our University on 4 and 5 February 2024, this time at B1 and B2 levels.

Such an exam is quite popular among foreigners. Obtaining the B1 level certificate opens up the possibility to get a job in European Union countries, entitles one to obtain permanent residence in Poland and to apply for citizenship. The C1 state exam, on the other hand, entitles one to study for free in Polish at Polish public universities,’

emphasises Katarzyna Dejnek-Kobylas.

The B2 state exam gives the opportunity to study in Polish at our national universities.

At the Vincent Pol University, we not only conduct such state examinations, but additionally offer preparation courses for those interested. It is worth taking advantage of them,”

adds Katarzyna Dejnek-Kobylas.
