Employees of the Department of Nursing and the Department of English Philology at Vincent Pol University took part in the International Week in Izmir, Turkey.
A four-person delegation from VPU consisting of Dr Maria Belcarz-Ciuraj, Dr Bernadeta Jędrzejkiewicz, MA Justyna Durak – from the Department of Nursing and MA Katarzyna Kowalska, doc. VPU from the Department of English Philology spent five days in Dokuz Eylul University in Izmir – from 27-31 May.
Our delegation was invited to the International Week. The event was organised by Dokuz Eylul University for the first time.
– In addition to the representation of our university, there was also a delegation of universities from Germany, Bulgaria and Denmark – says Justyna Durak from the VPU Department of Nursing. – The staff of Dokuz Eylul University presented their university to us, and we also listened to a lecture on Turkey – its culture, language and cuisine. We also had the opportunity to visit Izmir and Ephesus, but, of course, the highlight of the trip was the establishment of cooperation with the Turkish university within the framework of student exchange and the implementation of joint projects.
A delegation from our university visited the Faculty of Nursing there and a nearby hospital to see what the studios and halls were like, as well as the work at both the university and the Izmir hospital.
– We met with the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Dokuz Eylul University Prof. Dr. Seyda Seren Intepeler on site to exchange our experiences in educating future nurses – adds Justyna Durak. -It was a very interesting and valuable experience.
The trip was organised as part of the Erasmus+ programme.
