VPU Nursing students defended their undergraduate theses

There was excitement, some stress and, in the end, joy and relief. The undergraduate defences of the Nursing students took place at Vincent Pol University on Wednesday.

This is a special moment for both the students themselves and the entire academic community, highlighting their hard work, commitment and readiness to embark on a career in the nursing profession.

Undergraduate defence day is a mixture of emotions for many students – from excitement to pride to stress and tension. Each of them has been preparing for this moment for months, spending time researching, writing their thesis and preparing their presentation. Now it’s time to share the results of their work with the committee and get the coveted bachelor’s degree.

I have been studying here for three years. I studied for three weeks for my thesis defence and I feel confident. Today is a big day,” commented Rumbidzai Mugabe.

Others are a bit stressed. – I have my thesis defence in two hours. I am very nervous. I hope that when I stand in front of the committee I won’t be so stressed and will be able to answer all the questions related to my defence. I have been preparing for this for a month and I think I am ready. I also wish the other students good luck in their defences,” said Amanda Makwinja.

For students who defend their bachelor’s theses, it is the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. Earning a bachelor’s degree opens many doors for them – they can continue their studies at master’s level, take up jobs in hospitals, clinics or other healthcare facilities, as well as develop their skills and specialise in their chosen fields of nursing.

We congratulate all the graduates and wish them good luck in their future endeavours!
