“I would not have achieved so much if it weren’t for the ideas of our professors and lecturers,” emphasized President and Founder Vincent Pol University doc. Henryk Stefanek, during the solemn inauguration of the Academic Year 2024/2025. The event had a special significance as the university celebrated its 25th anniversary.
The ceremony began with a Holy Mass concelebrated at the Church of St. Andrew Bobola, attended by Bishop Adam Baba. Afterwards, participants moved to the auditorium in the new part of the University’s building.
Following the welcome of guests, the inauguration was highlighted by performances from renowned artists: Emilia Komarnicka-Klynstra and Stefano Terrazzino.
During his speech, the university Rector: prof. Mariusz Korczyński, Ph.D. emphasized that the Vincent Pol Univesity places a special focus on the practical aspects of education: “The determinant of our university has always been the practical dimension of education. We want to be a leader in the region in this type of study so that students can acquire the highest quality knowledge and practical preparation here.”
The most deserving employees and collaborators of the university were honored with medals for their contributions to Poland, the Lublin Voivodeship, and the city of Lublin, as well as commemorative medals on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the university’s existence. The best graduates of Vincent Pol University were formally presented with diplomas by the university authorities. Vice-dean, Head of Department of Physiotherapy – Krzysztof Sokołowski, Ph.D., prof. at VPU, received the Bronze Cross of Merit o behalf of the President of Poland the award was presented by Jarosław Szymczyk, Director General of the Lublin Voivodeship Office.
During the ceremony, the 25th formal matriculation of new students and their acceptance into the academic community took place, along with the official opening of the academic year 2024/2025.
The ceremony concluded with a speech from President and Founder Vincent Pol University doc. Henryk Stefanek, which included reflections on the last 25 years. In his speech, the President highlighted the importance of the long-term commitment of the entire academic community to the development of the university and the achievements that have been made during this time.
With nostalgia, he recalled the key moments and events that shaped this place and expressed gratitude to all employees, students, and graduates for their contributions to establishing the position of Vincent Pol University in the region and the country.
