Spend Saturday creatively and actively with Vincent Pol University

On Saturday, 25 May, Vincent Pol University invites you to two unique events – lid painting and Africa Day. They will provide plenty of attractions and unforgettable experiences for both students and residents of Lublin.

Lid painting – 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
We will start with the painting of jar lids. Come to our University from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. On that day, three places at the same time – Vincent Pol University in Lublin, the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn and the Polish-French Association in the town of Chateauroux in France – will host a joint painting of old jar lids. They will later be used to create an original art installation.

Each participant will have the opportunity to express his or her associations with Poland, France and also with two figures of great importance to the culture of both countries – Frederic Chopin and George Sand. Frédéric Chopin, an outstanding Polish composer, became a symbol of Poland’s national identity through his extraordinary piano compositions. On the other hand, George Sand, the French writer, discovered new territories in French Romantic literature.

Painting lids is an excellent opportunity to spend time in a relaxed and creative atmosphere and to develop your artistic talents. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this fun activity. Art materials will be provided on site.

Please note change of venue – painting will take place in the auditorium of the university’s Main Building, not in room 212 as previously announced.

Africa Day – 14:00
Another highlight of Saturday will be Africa Day, of which Vincent Pol University is co-organiser and patron. The event will begin at 2 p.m. This unique celebration will allow participants to move into the world of African culture.

Numerous attractions are planned for Litewski Square, including fashion shows, a panel discussion, vocal presentations and workshops related to African traditions. This will be a unique opportunity to learn about the richness of African culture, its rhythms and customs. Africa Day is a celebration full of colours, sounds and joy that is sure to leave many unforgettable memories.

Both events aim to integrate the academic community and the citizens of Lublin, as well as to promote cultural diversity and creative expression.

We warmly invite you to participate! Let’s spend Saturday, 25 May, actively and creatively, enjoying working together and discovering new cultures.
You are welcome!
